So, at the suggestion of my little brother, I downloaded the Spore creature creator.
Be warned - if you have your keyboard set to something random like Swedish, it will talk Swedish with you. I HATE these "user-friendly" features that seem to become more and more prevalent everywhere.
Anyway, I mucked about with the creature creator and made myself a long, snake-like cat-thing as well as this feathered, bright, strange thing. I couldn't figure out how to make it any fatter!
Mweeble ponders his pincers. I'm not sure what that weird look on its face means...
An interesting feature of this creature generator and possibly for Spore (aka: "Sim Everything") is the ability to create videos and screenshots and animated avatars directly from within the program and instantly upload to youtube.

Gah, this'll have to wait until I have installed Firefox 3 on my computer.

You don't need Firefox 3 for this. Works fine with IE.
I'm waiting for my email confirmation...

Didn't mean that, I don't want to get in to anything time consuming before I install that. I want to install it now, but I already have things online I need to finish first, so if I start playing with the Spores, I'll never get around to installing FF3.

Hehe - even the trial version's pretty fun:

EEE!!!
So cute :D
I see you were also attracted to the glide and jump-wings!
Oh, and I finally figured out how to make it fatter and skinnier - mouse scroll button up or down on the segment you want to obesify/skinnify.

Not so much scary, as cuddly and wuddly.

Aw, I'm sorry! Would you feel better if I say I would have been screaming if I had those horns chasing me? They do look rather pointy.

:(
I do agree.. My creature looks slightly more pervy and less cute.. I don't know why this is.

Or constipated... It's difficult to tell.

Doesn't work for me. Downloaded the creator, installed it, then it starts mocking me for missing files and what not, but that re-installing it would help. Tried that. Didn't help.
Untitled Comment
I wasn't mocking :)

Dante: sounds like the download may have gotten corrupt somehow. Shame. It's a cute little toy. If I were a kid, I could entertain myself endlessly with it.
Lise & Bebbet: Yeah.. constipated & angry often go hand in hand

Yeah it does the obligatory translation stuff to Finnish on this PC too. Still, it's a pretty decent translation. So far I've done a SPACE GERBIL (Grebiili), an approximated Idirian from Banks' Culture novels, a quadruped swamp-troll, and a pseudo-fleisch-troll-innsmouthian-deep-one.
Oh yeah, mouse scroll-wheel is your friend. Resize individual organs (eyes, antennae, whatever), joints, spines, and even the muscles of several of the appendages (scroll up or down on the limbs between the joints).
Fun bit of software. It's a kind of pre-order fiddly deal. Buy it now for €10, then get €10 off the final game, come September. Also nice way to populate the game universe, as if you share them they will be in the games of other players and will play with the same style (aggressive/friendly/expansionist etc.) that you did with them. So, within the first week Will Wright now has 250k characters modelled by the world (of which several thousand are probably walking genitalia).
Oh, and there's a data file on various YARR! torrenty sites of repute which include a further ~30% of bits and bobbles that apparently comes with the demo version distributed on new HP computers. Just dump the thing in your own directory and voila! More beaks/appendages/horns thingies.
