Number challengeHere's another challenge from Writers Write. The pattern this time is probably pretty obvious.![]() One day, in the umbrella factory, a terrible zinging and clanging could be heard. Two penguins had gotten into the machinery early that morning and were creating a terrible racket. Three expert mechanics were positioned in vital locations and bonking on the metal with their monkeywrenches in an attempt to scare them back out. Four hours, they had been trying this and their arms were getting a little tired. Five worried female factory-workers huddled in a sobbing mass - it had been their fault the penguin mascots had gotten into the machinery. Six zookeepers stood in the other corner, impatiently tapping penguin-catching nets against their thighs and practicing their aim with the tranquilizer guns on the distressed factory workers' bums. Seven sardines were laid out in a line leading out of the machinery, but so far the penguins had either not seen them or not fallen for it. Eight flies had however noticed the fishy smell and were orbiting them, angling for a landing position. Nine minutes past four and suddenly a penguin emerged, looking very shy - she was immediately bagged, tranquilized and swooped away to safety. Ten seconds later, the second penguin emerged, but he was not as simple - upon his face he had installed a terminator-like evil red eye and his flippers were mechanically augmented with what looked like miniguns and a small bazooka. Eleven out of fourteen humans were slaughtered upon the spot when he rescued his penguin-damsel whereas the rest escaped with severe shock and a few missing limbs. 01:03 - 4.9.2006 - post comment
