From the Forest

Posted in Unspecified
Twice in a row now, we've had very bad luck getting our pictures developed. The first time, the pictures came out corrupted, with some weird wibbly stuff along the top that looked like a rodent with acid liquids had been drooling evenly all along the edge. This was especially apparent in the digital scans. A lot of the prints also had it. There were also scratches and scrapes all over the place. They were also printed on the wrong paper. We complained and in the process they lost the cds with photos, but at least we got decent prints. The second time was today, when they end up scratching my films. This was another studio, since no way are we trusting the first one again. Luckily, they only scratched one of them and only a little at the beginning and end. Even more luckily, they did it after they printed it. Well, guess that means trouble if I have to print out more. I'm starting to have a deep distrust of all film developing companies. At least the latest one admitted their mistake and immediately reimbursed me instead of me having to wait two weeks.

Ah enough whining! Time for some pictures. I took these when I went for a walk in the forest, trying to reacquaint myself with a real camera, not one of these silly little digital pocket cameras.

I think all my favorite trees have become someone else's favorites. Over the years, planks of wood and platforms have begun collecting in their branches and up along their trunks like some strange, clunky spiderwebs.

I scampered around, looking up and down, peering into holes in trunks, trying to find exciting things to take pictures of. I was disappointed I did not find any exotic-looking spiderwebs (just slightly mank, boring ones). But being easy to amuse, I was fascinated by the shapes nature twists and breaks itself into.
